PH level of Sparkling Water
The average pH level computed in a study that measured the pH level of 9 different sparkling water brands was 4.5. Plain water has a neutral pH of 6.7. What does that mean for us? A study published in the Journal of the American Dental Association in April 2016 collected data on the pH levels of 379 beverages and discovered that Perrier carbonated mineral water had a low erosion potential, while S. Pellegrino sparkling natural mineral water had slightly higher. They measured 5.25 and 4.96 pH, respectively, while Coca-Cola measured 2.37 pH. (a low pH indicates a higher erosion potential; still water is a neutral 7 pH). So, while sparkling water isn’t as good for your teeth as still water, it’s not nearly as bad as regular soda or juice — plus, it’s free of added sugars, which contribute to dental decay, according to a September 2018 study published in the Oxford Journal of Public Health.

While carbonated water can be enjoyed time to time, maybe the best option is to trust Mother Nature and stick with PH levels we need for healthy body, our blood is telling us what it prefers.
