Toronto will host huge fireworks for Canada Day

A spectacular fireworks show will be held at Festival Terrace in Downsview Park in Toronto on July 1, 2023, to celebrate Canada Day.On July 1, live performances by The Orchestra and the Sean Stanley Quartet will begin at 4 p.m. and conclude with a stunning fireworks display that begins at 10 p.m.

From noon to six o’clock, Nathan Phillips Square will come to life with Canada Day activities. After a break since 2017, this signifies the return of celebrations to the square. The Hitmen Drumline, Alana and Leah Cline, and Alpha Rhythm Roots will all give exciting performances during the festival. Families may participate in interactive games created by Picasso Painters and Muse Arts as well as the Department of Imaginary Affairs’ “The Giant Storybook” activity.

Live music and kid-friendly activities will also be held at Mel Lastman Square, with The Haneen Woman Choir, Trash Panda Brass, JER, and other up-and-coming performers among them.
There won’t be any fireworks at Mel Lastman Square, unlike last year.
At 10 p.m., the city will dazzle onlookers with a spectacular fireworks show to cap off the day. At Centennial Park, Milliken Park, Stan Wadlow Park, and Ashbridges Bay Park, fireworks will light up the night sky.

Other Cities and Towns celebrating Canada Day

Aurora

Commence your Canada Day festivities with the yearly parade. Don’t miss the marching bands, cultural performances, and much more, including the Governor Generals Horse Guards. The procession will pass by Yonge Street, between Edward Street and Aurora Heights Drive. It’s time to celebrate Canada’s birthday and have fun! Children’s activities and a live multicultural presentation are included in the festivities. Make sure to take part in our Passport Activities, which offer engaging games and activities for each Province and Territory that highlight their culture and environment. A variety of food vendors will be available for your enjoyment. Play mini golf, jump about, and more!

Ottawa

Join the nation’s largest Canada Day celebration on July 1 in Canada’s capital area as locals and tourists alike wear red and white attire! At the official locations in Ottawa and Gatineau, there will be a wide range of free activities, dignitary and special guest appearances, live performances by well-known and up-and-coming Canadian bands, and, weather allowing, a spectacular fireworks display!

Vancouver

Some of the biggest events, including vibrant parades, live music performances, picnics, and barbecues, can be found in Vancouver. The Canada Place exposition centre is often where official ceremonies take place. You may enjoy free outdoor concerts, spectacular nighttime fireworks, mechanical bucking broncos, bouncy castles, lumberjack performances, and more here. Don’t miss out on the fun—thousands of people come here during the day. The big and vibrant Canada Day Parade travels through downtown Vancouver in the evening. This is unquestionably among the greatest locations to visit on July 1. There are several events for everyone in North and West Vancouver as well. Come and take in all of them.

Montreal

On July 1, Montrealers gather at the Old Port to celebrate Canada Day. Young and old may attend the Quai de l’Horloge to celebrate Canada Day, share cake, and proudly wear the national colours, much like at a large local block party. Above all, welcoming and warm, this celebration offers a jam-packed schedule of events that anybody can enjoy regardless of the time of day: kid-friendly performances, a playground, entertaining seminars, cake-sharing, rest and relaxation spaces, and a party led by a DJ pair. The homage to the Canadian Armed Forces, events hosted by Parks Canada, and other events will all be available to Montreal residents.
