Most famous Canadians of our life time

As most of you already know, Canada is famous for lavish Nature, Maple Syrup and Ice Hockey. We have breathtakingly beautiful mountains, Great Lakes, millions of islands, we are crazy for ice hockey, we enjoy pancakes with maple syrup and eat French fries with gravy and cheese called Poutine. But Canada is also famous for great athletes, amazing singers and hilarious comedians!

Many great Canadians are very well known while others tend to enjoy a little fame abroad. We have put up a list of most famous Canadians of our life time, many you know but perhaps you did not know they were Canadians.

20. Gordon Howe, Athlete 

Gordon Howe (March 31, 1928 – June 10, 2016) was a Canadian professional ice hockey player. From 1946 to 1980, he played 26 seasons in the  (NHL) and six seasons in the (WHA), his first 25 seasons were spent with the Detroit Red Wings. Nicknamed was “Mr. Hockey“!

Eilleen Regina “Shania” Twain was born on August 28, 1965 in Windsor, Ontario. She has sold over 100 million records, making her the best-selling female artist in country music history.

Bryan Guy Adams was born on 5 November 1959 in Kingston, Ontario. Adams is musician, singer, songwriter, composer, and photographer. He has been cited as one of the best-selling music artists of all time, and is estimated to have sold between 75 million and more than 100 million records and singles worldwide.

12. Alanis Morisette, Singer

Alanis Nadine Morissette was born on June 1, 1974 in Ottawa. Morissette is singer, songwriter, and actress. She began her career in Canada in the early 1990s with two dance-pop albums. In 1995, she released an alternative rock-oriented album which sold more than 33 million copies globally.

Her angelic voice is recognizable around our globe. She will always stay as one of the Worlds most accomplished and recognizable singers maybe of all times.
