Friday the 13th: Largest Biker Gathering in Canada

For the annual event during Friday the 13th, tens of thousands of motorcyclists and tourists will converge on the sleepy little town of Port Dover along the north shore of Lake Erie. Since 1981, the yearly event has been conducted once, occasionally twice, and often draws tens of thousands of bikers from all over North America and the world to the little town of Port Dover during the warmer months and less during the winter.

Due to the chilly weather and hazardous driving conditions, only a small number of bikers attended the previous event in January. Police estimates state that more least 100,000 people attended the event in May 2022 where Port Dover became the Canadian capital of Bikers.

According to Environment Canada, this years biker gathering weather will be cloudy with a high of 13 C and showers will start in the evening when the temperature drops to 9 C.

A significant contribution is made to the event’s planning by the Port Dover Kinsmen Club, which also coordinates vendors, sells authorized items, and offers camping spaces. Port Dover Kin Park at 95 Hamilton Plank Road will offer camping for RVs, trailers, and tents. For this event, Silver Lake Park does not offer camping.The Kinsmen also offer parking spaces and buses to the city centre.

The main stage will include live music starting at 1 p.m. at the Elmer Lewis parking lot at 329 Main Street. Albatross, Wicked Truth, Mystic Highway, and Practically Hip perform on Thursday.

The Killin’ Time Band, John Atlee Band, Bill Durst, The Deadbeats, and Back In Black are among the performers on Friday’s concert roster.

On Friday, October 13 from 3 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. the following roads will be closed:

• –       Nelson St. East from St. Patrick to Highway 24
• –       Greenock St. W. from St. George to Richardson Drive
• –       Richardson Drive from Nelson St. W. to Greenock St.
