Oh, what a surprise: Canadians not happy with their jobs
Surprise! No one in Canada is all that happy with their employment, and Ontario has one of the most unhappy workforces in the nation, according to a new index for which employees throughout Canada rank how happy they feel at work.

The main issues facing Canadians are a lack of prospects for job growth and poor pay and benefits, with the latter being particularly critical given the recent inflationary pressures that have made it nearly difficult for most people to afford living in big cities like Toronto. A main indicator of workplace happiness according to the index is the fact that 44% of employees indicate they are content with their current roles and responsibilities; however, secondary variables such as work-life balance, workplace recognition and support, salary, and more have a negative impact on this figure.

No surprises here at all
Canada’s housing market has experienced significant growth in recent years, with soaring prices attracting attention and concern. As housing affordability becomes an increasing challenge, many wonder when housing prices might finally see a downturn. Financial stress is a big contributing factor in job satisfaction!
Pure and simple:
the best job in the world means nothing to us if we can’t afford a decent living with the wage we earn! Living in big cities like Toronto and Vancouver or living in big city vicinity while housing and rental prices skyrocket impacts very well how we look at our jobs and our future. We not only need to work to pay our bills, but instead we need to prosper to have a positive feeling about our work and our life.

On top of extremely high housing prices there was off-course COVID pandemic, fear of loosing jobs, lockdowns and the recent inflation development. Mixture of those influencing factors in the past 3-4 years have brought the un-satisfactory outcome to Canadians, not only with job satisfaction but with entire life quality.
