IHOP is giving free Pancakes in Ontario
Next week is National Pancake Day, and IHOP will be offering free pancakes in observance of the holiday.
The first and only IHOP store in the GTA so far is in Brampton, where you can grab your complimentary short stack (three buttermilk pancakes). Since it opened in June of last year, this will be the first Pancake Day celebration at the venue.
IHOP is not the only restaurant to observe Pancake Day. A lot of breakfast and dessert restaurants in the Greater Toronto Area have been figuring out ways to extend their love of the traditional breakfast food throughout the whole month of February, even though it is customarily observed on Shrove Tuesday or Mardi Gras, which fell on Feb. 21 this year.
Last February, in honour of National Pancake Day, the fluffy, Japanese-style souffle pancake specialist Fuwa Fuwa distributed 5,000 pancakes altogether.
The restaurant also provided one souffle pancake to a nearby healthcare worker or university student who was unable to spend their study week with their families for every free pancake that was distributed.
This year, the breakfast restaurant chain Sunset Grill joined in the fun by offering its renowned buttermilk pancakes for a dollar on Shrove Tuesday.
The Canadian Cancer Society receives all of the campaign’s revenues, which are donated in its thirteenth year this year.
