Toyota Recalls 28K Vehicle in Canada Due to Transmission Issues
The automaker reports that over 28,000 Toyota cars have been recalled because of a gearbox issue that may cause collisions.
Toyota Canada has announced a nationwide recall of its Lexus LX 600, Toyota Tundra, and Sequoia models from the 2023–24 model years.
It states that when the automobile is in neutral, some components of the transmission could not disengage right away, which might keep the wheels turning.

In Canada, Toyota recalled 28,000 and In the United States, the automaker has recalled 280,000 Lexus LX 600, Sequoia, and Toyota Tundra cars. Owners who are worried should contact their dealer or input their vehicle ID number at toyota.com/recall; notifications will be sent out in late April.

According to Toyota Canada, if the brakes are not engaged while the car is on a level surface, it may start to move forward slowly.
Customers are urged by the automaker to bring their cars to Toyota and Lexus dealerships so that they may receive a free software upgrade.
According to NHTSA statistics, Toyota recalls may have impacted 4.2 million cars last year. A large portion of that number stemmed from a recall of one million cars in late December, which aimed to fix an electrical problem that would have prevented airbags from activating.
In addition, Toyota declared a recall on 19,000 certain Lexus LS, LC, and ES cars as well as some Mirai models manufactured in North America between 2023 and 2024. The rearview picture in certain cars may “not display[ing] within the period of time required by certain US safety regulations after the driver shifts the vehicle into reverse, increasing the risk of a crash while backing the vehicle” due to a software issue in such cars.

Additionally, there is a recall on 4,000 Toyota Camry and Camry Hybrid cars due to a problem with the head restraints on the back fold-down seats, which may “increase the risk of injury during certain collisions.”
The recall comes after the firm issued a warning to the owners of thousands of older Matrix, RAV4, and Corolla vehicles last month, alerting them to the possibility of a Takata airbag inflator blowing and launching shrapnel.
